Ocean sunfish

This unusual chopped off-looking fish is of course not chopped in half! This weird fish holds the record for the one that lays the most eggs and also, the largest bony fish in the world, discovered. This ocean sunfish, female, can lay up to 300 million eggd at one time! As the largest bony fish, a fully-grown sunfish measures more than 3.7 meters, and weighs more than 2,000 kg! This scary fish is the piranha. The piranha holds the record for the most dangerous freshwater fish. It has very sharp teeth, and a shoal of hungry piranhas can strip flesh from fishes, horses and humans in a few minutes, most of the time just leaving the bones.

Basketweave Cusk-Eel

This weird fish is the basketweave cusk-eel. It holds the record for the deepest living fish. It lives more than 8 km down! It lives at the depth of about 8,300 meters! It is probably a type of snailfish, pictured below.

Brisingid

This is the brisingid starfish . It holds the record for the biggest sea star in the sea. They can grow up to about 1.4 meters across its arms from tip to tip. It is very fragile and its thin, long arms easily break. Its central disk is only about 2.5 cm!
